Youth is not a time of life; 
젊음은 인생의 한 시기가 아니요,
it is a state of mind
 마음의 상태이다.
it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, 
장밋빛 볼과 붉은 입술, 
red lips and supple knees
유연한 무릎이 아니라
it is a matter of the will, 
의지와 풍부한 상상력과     
a quality of the imagination
a vigor of the emotions .....
 활기찬 감정에 달려있다.
Youth means a temperamental 
젊음이란 기질이
predominance of courage over timidity
소심하기보다는 용기에 넘치고
of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease
수월함을 좋아하기보다는 모험을 좇는 것이고
this often exists in a man 
이는 스무 살 청년에게도
of sixty more than a boy of twenty
 예순 노인에게도 있다.
Nobody grows old merely by a number of years
단지, 나이를 먹는다고 늙는것은 아니다.
We grow old by deserting our ideals....
이상理想을 버릴때 우리는 늙는다.
In the center of your heart 
그대와 나의 가슴 
and my heart there is a wireless station;
한가운데는 무선국이 있다.
so long as it receves messages 
그것이 사람들로부터 또는 
of the beauty, hope, cheer, courage
하늘로부터 아름다움과 희망과 활기
and power from men and from the infinite, 
용기와 힘의 메시지를 수신하는 한,
so long are you young....
그대는 영원히 젊으리라
